When it comes to Ilkley shops, there’s a really neat mix. For every Costa coffee shop there’s a fantastic community project like Outside the Box. National clothing chains like White Stuff sit alongside longstanding traditional Ilkley firms such as Eric Spencer. However, there are a host of brands making their way to LS29 in the coming months, and here is your guide to them.

Laura Tenison founded the firm in 1993, following a conversation with a young mum who bemoaned the lack of variety when it came to mail order children’s clothes. The company grew from there and now offers clothing for kids and mothers, as well as accessories and nursery furniture. Tenison earned an MBE for her services to business and is used as pundit on entrepreneurship on Radio 4 pretty much every other day.
JOJO MAMAN BÉBÉ FACT: The company raises funds for the Nema Foundation, which fights child poverty in the north of Mozambique.
